You Are Never Alone
Read this…
“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:16-18 ESV)
Encouragement…
I want to share something that the church doesn’t talk much about. But we are going to talk about it here and on my podcast, Reveal. We are going to talk about Loneliness.
Let me ask you a question, when was the last time you heard a sermon on loneliness? Have you even thought about the people around you if they are lonely. Do you even notice or care? Since we have been in this pandemic more and more people are lonely. People are separated, divided, and alone. Loneliness has already been around but it is more prevalent now than ever.
We all go through times of feeling lonely. We can feel this even if we are in a crowd, with family, friends or church. We can feel alone sometimes for no apparent reason at all. You can just feel alone.
But, in those same times we can be certain of one thing. God has never left us alone and will never leave us alone.
Loneliness actually hurts. Ask those that are lonely if it hurts and you will be very surprised of the answer. Loneliness is real but the love of God is ever present. No matter what we go through God is there. No matter how hard it is God is with you. No matter how we feel, we are never alone.
There is great comfort in knowing that we are never alone. No other human can make that promise to us. Only God.
God is such a good Father and promises that in our times of feeling alone we just need to call on Him and He promised to send the Spirit of truth to come. He will send Himself to us as our helper. You are never alone, never hopeless, never too far from His love.
Pray this….
Lord, help me to know that you are always with me and that You will come when I call and send the Helper to me. That any feeling of loneliness will pass and all I need to do is call on you and you will be there. I trust you to come. I trust that you love me and that your love for me will be enough. In Jesus Christ name, I pray, Amen.
Reflect…
In what way do you need God to fulfill your life today? What can you do in times of loneliness? Is there anyone that you know who is lonely?
