Holiness
March 3
Justification, holiness and sanctification are wonderful words. Let’s talk a little about this.
Justification is what happened to you the moment you received Jesus as lord. It is what happened when you repented of your sin, forsook your sin, turned your back on the world n said you follow Jesus as your lord. At that very moment you are declared righteous.
The Blood of Jesus cleanses you. It takes you out of darkness or hiding and cleanses you from all sin. No matter what it is. Sanctification is something that also happens at the point of cleansing and this is working out what was done inside of you at the time of justification. Its the synonym for holiness.
Sanctification makes you holy. It makes you set apart for Him. It makes your life look different. It make you talk different, walk different, live different and be different. It’s the work of the cross done on the inside of you and it works its way to the outside of your life for all to see. It’s a private work with public presentation. When you don’t live a sanctified, set apart life no one sees the Lord.
Hebrews 12:14…says “pursue sanctification, pursue holiness because without it no one will see the lord.”
This means without sanctification that you pursue and the holiness you pursue and that you are responsible for, not God, no one will see the Lord. People won’t be drawn to the Father. People won’t see God working in your life.
But if you dont let what’s done in you work to the outside others, a dark sinful world, won’t see God and they won’t see God in you. But how do you do this work? You can do this by the grace of God. By His empowerment your life.
This is what grace is. Grace comes and it empowers you to do what truth demands of you. The truth is your are created to be holy. Truth demands holiness. But you can’t do that in your own strength. The truth is you are created to love. But you can’t love unless He graces you to love. Grace is a higher standard you can live by. Grace is the power to do what think is impossible. It’s the power to do what the word of God requires.
Hebrews 12:28….says grace empowers you to serve God acceptably.
Bottom line friend, live righteous. Live holy. Stop justifying sin or inability to do anything that is truth from Jesus. Let His word or His standard be what you live by. He will give you the power to live anything you need to live out.
His holiness sets you apart and His holiness is perfect.
