Ideas That Serve Others & You This Holiday
Okay the holidays are in full swing. We are officially past Thanksgiving and into Christmas can you believe it?
So what are your plans for the holiday? Usually the holidays are very hard for me. I have no family here with me except my two sons and they have lives of their own. But for a long time now the holidays has lost its love with me. But enough of that. I wrote this blog to help you figure out how you can help someone else. Why am I bringing this up? Because that is how I make it through the season by giving.
So I thought I would bring you in on it too.
- Buy a new journal for the new year and make it a special theme
- Send a handwritten greeting card don’t send an email or emoji
- Surprise someone you love with a love note
- Give unusually generous tips or cash gifts to someone. Listen to Holy Spirit about what to do.
- Deliver a thoughtful gift to your neighbor i.e., cake, cookies, candy, gift cards, etc.
- Make a scarf for someone if you crochet or knit
- Treat yourself to facial or someone you know to a facial
- Go to dinner with a few close friends
- Try a new recipe on your family
- Get a holiday massage
- Donate things to a local charity
- Volunteer at a local charity
- Surprise an older woman with a nosegay bouquet
- Buy yourself or someone a new perfume
- Practice attentiveness
- Join a book club for the new year
- Plan a bucket list for next year
- Pay for groceries for someone in line holiday shopping
- Buy someone coffee
- Buy a new holiday outfit
Enjoy the holidays, enjoy the Lord and your family. Make it count for all its worth. Make a memory for yourself to keep.
Happy Holidays!
