Hey hey friends, welcome to book 2 in my Author Book Series. It is such an honor to share this book with you. Every work of art has a story behind it. So what is the story behind Quiet Conversations: Hearing the Voice of God?

This book was born from a dream I had one night or early one morning. I was asleep and had a dream about a well known pastor in my city. In this dream I was having a conversation with with him and he began tell me things as we were talking. Then he whispered to me it’s just a quiet conversation. When I woke up I knew it was the title of a book I was working on to help women learn to hear God’s voice.

I have had so many women in my life tell me that they wanted to know how they can hear God speaking to them. They struggled with something that to me came very easily, hearing God talk to me.

Honestly, I didn’t, at first, understand how they didn’t hear God speaking. It was easy for me but then I learned that it was not so easy for others because honestly you really need to have a relationship with Him to really hear Him. Now there are exceptions but for the most part talking with Holy Spirit is just like talking to your best friend. You know your friend’s voice because you are familiar with them every day. It is the same with God. Just talk to Him everyday.

So, out of this concern for others an idea for the book came for me to show more than tell people how to hear God. Thus, the book was born.

I knew I heard God clear so I decided to fill this book with stories of conversations I personally had with the Holy Spirit. I wanted people to hear and see the conversations just as they were that I was having. I want them to see jus how easily me and the Holy Spirit talked to each other.

So if you want “see” how the Holy Spirit talks this is a great book and a great read. I can’t promise He will talk to you in the exact same way but you may see from my “quiet conversations” that He talks to you and you just never noticed it.

So, what are quiet conversations?

Quiet conversations are conversations that really only you can hear when the other person is talking directly to you. If you were in a room or restaurant and other people are around and you and your guest are at the dinner table talking, you are having a quiet conversation.

These conversations are private not for the entire room or restaurant to hear. Same with Holy Spirit. He is talking to you telling you things that are just for you at that moment in a quiet conversation. Holy Spirit never yells, never intrudes on you. You must invite Him into your space and time.

So how can we you begin to hear the voice of God?

This is such an important part of your walk with God that I want to give you the best advice I can. Let me say this before I give you my suggestions. God is not hiding Himself from you. He wants to talk to you and He wants you to know Him and hear Him. It is not hard to hear God friends.

So how do you start? You start by practicing the presence of God. Start by getting yourself a journal and sit quietly for a few minutes. You can have on some calming worship music with no singing is best. Open your journal and begin to ask God a question. Write it down and wait. Wait for His response that you hear. Write the first thing you hear. Then ask another question. Do this until you feel you need to stop. Do this everyday. As you do these quiet sessions with God you will begin to hear and learn God’s voice to you.

I love my time with the Lord so much I created a prayer room in my home just for Him. It’s a room with no tv and no cell phones allowed. Just worship music playing on my google box. It’s a sanctuary for myself and Him from the outside world. We have every room in our homes but a prayer room. If you can, create one for Him one day.

I wrote this book so anyone can see that you can talk to the most important person on the planet, the Holy Spirit and that you can grow in your relationship with Him starting today.
